13 February 2012 Trail Dynamics on West Cadillac

After the 10 February 2012 Cadillac and Magnolia Trail Assessment Ride, the Trail Dynamics crew hit the ground running. By the end of today's work, Ed, Hector, Marco, EZ, Cristino and MotoMike had laid in some really nice singletrack. Today's photos cover work below "the cars" between C26 and 27, between C24 and 22, between C20 and 21, and between C14 and 16. There's some jumping around from section to section as I tried to get some shots of everything in various stages of completion. I did not get on site till early afternoon. Video sampler uploaded to YouTube. Compare how Cadillac Trail looked on 11-12 November 2008 here and here. Official map for this park. • Primary 13 February 2012 work areas. Right to left, between C27-26 is a highside replacement. Between C24-22 (where C23 would be if the trail marker were still up) some rebenching. Between C21-20 is a lowside bypass option below The Root. Between C16-14 is the most significant amount of work. Primary line downhill from C16 now has heavy terraforming - berms and drains. Above that are two highside bypasses nearly connected in the middle. The eastmost includes a sweet little bridge over an erosion drain.

  • Old line veered downhill here, then back up. It was a fairly recent user created revision to the original line. Original line had eroded, exposing roots which folks were avoiding.
