FACA 2011 Senior All-Star XC Meet
I was on lead bike for the 3 December 2011 edition of this meet, so just a sprinkling of photos in this gallery.
Rear-facing video from lead bike: Girls' 5k and Boys' 5k.
Note the hazy lens, excessive glare and gremlin spot in my video during both races. Arrrgh, time for new gear and a brain implant. I was unable to locate a brain.
I have replaced the old discontinued GoPro 5mp wide standard def with the new GoPro HD Hero2, and the LCD BacPac.
Now I'll be able to see mistakes in high def while I'm making them! Sorry it's a few days too late for FACA.
There are a few snips from those vids in DistancePreps.com's Darrin Detorres' Girls' 5k and Boys' 5k race videos.
1 November 2011 helmetcam video showing the current course layout. Video includes linked splits for 400m, 800m, 1km, 1200m, 1500m, 1M, 2km, The Wall (twice), 2500m, 3km, 2M, 4km, 5km.

My 2001-2005, 2006 and 2007 FACA coverage.
Extensive Flrunners.com meet coverage here.
Flrunners.com pro photographer Jeff Adams' 1474 photos from course tour, to banquet, to race and awards.
DistancePreps' Darrin Detorres has photo and video coverage here. Also might check here. Thanks, Darrin and Robert "DoctorBob" Cooke!
Pretty sure FSU Hall of Famer Herb Wills will have coverage on his superb area running Trouble Afoot blog soon. Herb's 2009 and 2010 coverage makes great reading and viewing. Herb is visible in many of Jeff's photos and Darrin's videos pedaling the other lead bike to get his race coverage.
FACA 2011 Meet results here. For the truly lazy, Girls' and Boys' results.
As I recall Girls' halfway lead split was 9:05 (~9:17 second half), Boys' was 7:41 (~8:05 second half).
Boys' winner Chris Godwin, after finishing 11th at the Footlocker South Regional, got a berth at the 10 December 2011 National Championship. Story here.
GPS track of miscellaneous lead bike meanderings.
As to concerns the lead bike was about to be overtaken during the first couple hundred meters of the Girls' 5k, I had it under control. But maybe next year I'll pedal this. Better yet, hire this guy.
