FACA 2006 Senior All-Star XC Meet

SATURDAY MORNING, 18 November, at Miccosukee Greenway's Edenfield Road trailhead. This annual event pits Florida HS seniors from North/South/East/West counties against one another after their FHSAA XC career has concluded. A really fun event to be associated with from any angle - runner, coach, parent, fan, or volunteer. All photos, #1890-2382 (760MB+) have been uploaded. Results, thanks to Godby Coach Chris Sumner: http://www.milesplit.com/meet/20625 Many thanks to my photojournalist stand-in while I was on lead bike duty. Sickles Coach David Rittenour's friend, Coach Ladd Baldwin from Gaither HS, did the honors. Without Coach Baldwin, no photos! Team uniforms were courtesy of Mr. Hank Steinbrenner. Thanks is not enough, Mr. Steinbrenner. I join the kids in thinking you really rock! Team dinner from Olive Garden (courtesy Will & Kathy Anguish) with FSU Coach Bob Braman arranging and doing pickup/delivery duties. Coach Bob, the dinner and race isn't complete without your presence. Btw, where was Citron? Many thanks to the FSU XC/T&F gang for assistance with course setup: Althea Belgrave, Wade Brett, Sean McManus, Joey Zins, Abby Day, Stuart Pearce. • I had lead bike duties, so here's today's camera guy, babysitting P-Snoop the Pugsley. Without Coach Ladd Baldwin from Gaither HS, I have no race photos to post, and you have none to view.

This shot was actually the day's last. It was the only one snapped by yours truly.

  • I'm attempting to show Coach Baldwin how to pre-focus the lens. Snap! Ok, that one works.

  • Lesson #2. This one works, as well.
I'll get out of here so Coach Baldwin can get some work done.

  • It's obvious Coach Baldwin's kids aren't bothered by pre-race butterflies.
