Scroll waaaaaay down past this text to see the maps, videos, and photos... 2014 NOTE: This venue to be used for the 2014 FHSAA 3A//1A Region 1 Cross Country Championships, 8 Nov. Flrunners meet page for 3A and 1A. This venue is on PRIVATE PROPERTY, not available for open running the rest of the year. All grass, cross country spikes are fine. SEE COURSE TOUR VIDEO. I suggest you start with your volume down. BYO accompanying music. The course changed in one place since I shot the "photo every 50m" tour. Beginning about here we extended the course to add ~55m at the north tip of the east loop. Necessary due to the 2011 FHSAA change from NFHS to USATF measurement. It's very important that folks not wander around areas not in the immediate race course area. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. Stay away from the waters edge - alligators inhabit Roberts Pond. Please stay out of the old pole barn. It's ok to cut across the "peanut field" from the green awards barn to the ~1200m point at the north tip of the middle loop. No motorized vehicles out of the parking area. Taking a bike from the Barn across the north paved road ~800m over across the Roberts Pond levee (2500m point) is ok. Like this. Just do not wander around off course. Folks live here - we need to respect their privacy. Pick up all of your trash, plus anything extra. When we leave, there should be no evidence an event took place. It would be nice to get invited back for more races. Thanks! Coaches and runners - do not get DQ'd for something avoidable. FHSAA Cross Country Manual. Some ARCHIVE text from 2009-10 regionals at Sunnyhill: Chiles HS Coach Scott Gowan asked for some assistance with this new course. Here we go... • 5Km course tweaked yellow with GPS Visualizer, and North Connector (red) from the Barn across the Roberts Pond Levee to near the halfway point on the East Loop. It's a bit more direct if you cut straight across the north edge of the "peanut hay field" toward the levee. That red line is about 800m long.

  • A bit of the west start/finish field from behind our revised start line.
We'll be aiming for an oak ~360m away that's our first and last turn on this course.
This west start/finish field is firming up a bit now that it's been mowed and exposed to the sun for several days.
Beautiful day, huh?
