Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails)  > Parks and Trails > Munson Hills Area > Munson Assessment September 09
Some snaps from a public tour of Munson Hills Trails' east side with US Forestry's Jim Schmid, Sherry Gaston, and Trail Dynamics' Valerie Naylor.

JANUARY 2010 NEWS: Munson/TZ Trail Assessment from Trail Dynamics' Valerie Naylor.

Keep up with all things Munson at some of these links:
Ken Foster's Munson blog.
USFS' Jim Schmid has a Munson/Twilight Zone blog as well.
Dixie Davis, along with Linc Clay and Ken admin this "Fans of Munson Hills/Twilight Off-Road Bike Trails" Facebook page.
Tallahassee Mountain Bike Association webpage.

Videos are posted, but not in chronological order. Videos take a bit longer for me to screw up, and I'm attempting some geotagging of "on the trail" shots. So I'll be screwing that up as well. It just takes longer now...

GPS track of the 12 Sep 09 assessment tour. Yes, I didn't start the track till I was in the woods just off the entrance trail.

Heading from our third rendezvous point toward the SE Munson entrance off the St. Marks Trail.
The area we're passing through is a candidate for adding some variety.

From this track, minus the portion at the entrance when I forgot to start the GPS.

Tall Pine Shortcut:
Dealing with the fall line issues at the north end to maintain the fun factor without having it continue to cave in. At pond level, move line south into the trees.
On the way to the south end, minimal issues. Perhaps a small demonstration section near FR 379 crossing.

Discussing the future of this SE "trailhead."
Discussing fall line armoring again.
