Photos 1183-1889 have been uploaded. Yes, that's about 700 shots. This is getting to be old news: It took my waxed string and tin can, world's slowest DSL connection (courtesy of the oxymoronically-named "SPRINT" - no wonder they changed the name to "Embarq") a loooong time to get this ~1GB of full resolution shots uploaded.

You may wish to change the gallery "STYLE" (top right) for easier viewing/locating all ~700 photos. Try "all thumbs" or "journal." When sifting through hundreds of photos, "all thumbs" works best for locating any individual shot. Thanks!

The much abused camera and lens gave me fits with its "now I'll work, now I won't" tantrums. Anyone got a Nikon D2Hs they want me to test drive?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_D2Hs
That, and the difficulty of dealing with a nearly 10 furlong loop to navigate made getting shots of everyone an impossible task. I had to leave as the Boys' 3A had run only ~1M. So I missed many shots that I wanted to get of our friends from those schools. Guess I could have missed the bus and pedaled the bike back to Tallahassee, right?

John Kalin

Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > Guess the first thing I'll post is the last photo I took.
It's a course map from behind the main steeplechase grandstands at Little Everglades Ranch.

Yes, I did get a chance to roll the scrupulously calibrated P-Snoop the Pugsley fatbike over the course on Friday afternoon. I got 5010m. Stayed 2m or less from the rail, and center of tread on the infield. (Incidentally, I measured the perimeter - thus defined - to be ~1870m.)
Saturday morning, I noticed they marked the start line up just a few meters from where I'd been told it was going to be.
Call it 5000m, ok? Nice job, guys! We'll have to complain about something other than course length for 2006.

Maclay boys looking tanned and rested.
Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > Coach Tony Ryan and some of his Bolles kids. They reminded me of the fun they had getting lost at our Lake Overstreet trails last summer. Hope the kids can visit us at Maclay School again soon.
Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > Bolles girls with their awesome camo tights.

Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > I take the Pugsley out for a course check. We stop here at the 2500m point. It's at the south end of the grandstands, lap 2.
Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > Approaching the 2M mark on the infield.
Trail Gnome (tallahasseetrails) > START
SATURDAY, right about 8am, the 4A girls react to the starter's pistol. (Ok, you sharp-eyed exif data checkers - so I need to reset my camera's internal clock.)
In case you can't tell from the photos, the early races were cool and foggy.
Races in the late morning were sunny and very warm.
